HMS and Microsoft renew their Technology Alliance
Montreal, May 28th, 2014 - HMS Software, the publisher of TimeControl, one of the world's most popular timesheet systems announced today that they have renewed their technical alliance with Microsoft for the 11th consecutive year which makes HMS one of the longest standing certified partners of Microsoft. In fact, the relationship with Microsoft goes back to the early 1990s. HMS and Microsoft formalized their relationship in 1995 when HMS became an inaugural member of the Microsoft Project Solution Partner program. The collaboration between HMS and Microsoft on the TimeControl to Microsoft Project integration is celebrating its 20th year this year.
HMS Software's TimeControl timesheet has had an integration with every version of Microsoft Project since 1995 and with Microsoft Project Server since it was first launched in 2002. In 2006 HMS was named a "First to Market" partner for its work integrating TimeControl with Microsoft Project Server.
This year HMS has renewed its alliance with Microsoft as a Silver Partner starting with the new Application Development Competency. In order to qualify for this competency HMS submitted TimeControl to rigorous testing through the Microsoft Partner Network program. As a result, TimeControl has been certified as Windows Server 2012 Certified.
"HMS is highly committed to the Microsoft relationship," explains Chris Vandersluis, president of HMS. "The long standing nature of the relationship means that the two firms have many contacts at many different levels at the business, technology and strategic levels. Both Microsoft and HMS have benefited from this relationship over the years, ensuring that we communicate with each other so we can provide the best possible solutions to our clients."
Aside from the Windows Server certification, and the links to Project and Project Server, TimeControl also integrates other Microsoft Technologies such as SharePoint, SQL Server, Dynamics GP, and others.
"All of our clients use Microsoft Technology to deliver TimeControl functionality to their users," says Stephen Eyton-Jones, Director of Technical Services at HMS. "Not only do some clients link with Microsoft Project or Project Server, we have many clients who use our integration with SharePoint or the power of SQL Server to help integrate TimeControl into their line-of-business system. The partnership with Microsoft allows us to develop and support a powerful combination of our efforts to give clients the best possible timesheet solution."
Using HMS Software's TimeControl with Microsoft technologies allows clients to enhance their business processes to comply with numerous timesheet requirements such as simultaneous project tracking, billing, payroll, job costing and auditable governance such as R&D tax credits, DCAA or Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
With the relationship between the two firms having so many facets, HMS has created a portal to help clients identify which Microsoft Technology they can take advantage of when using TimeControl. The Portal includes links to many different HMS and Microsoft resources including white papers, webcasts, PowerPoint presentations and more. The portal can be found at: www.timecontrol.com/use-cases/microsoftportal.
