HMS renews its long standing alliance with Oracle
Montreal - March 17, 2014 - HMS Software, publishers TimeControl, of the world's most popular timesheet systems has renewed its Oracle Partner Network membership again at the Gold Partner level. The Oracle Partner program is designed to allow software publishers such as HMS to create a technical alliance with Oracle in order to more effectively bring products and services to each other's clients.
"The relationship between Oracle and HMS Software is one of the long standing in the industry," said Chris Vandersluis, President of HMS Software. "HMS has deep connections with Oracle in the Application and database areas which stretch back to the 1990s. HMS Software's TimeControl timesheet has had a link with Oracle-Primavera since 1997 and has supported the Oracle database since 1997. We also now support MySQL and links between TimeControl and Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards. The Oracle and HMS teams regularly work together to support their mutual clients."
The technical alliance that is made possible by the Oracle Partner Network allows both HMS and Oracle to offer clients a combination of functionality, architecture and subject matter expertise that makes the sum greater than the individual parts. Thanks to the Oracle Gold Partner status, Oracle clients who work with TimeControl are secure in the knowledge that HMS works within the Oracle architecture.
"Being a Gold Partner in the Oracle Partner Network gives HMS access to Oracle products, and expertise that directly benefits our mutual clients," explains Stephen Eyton-Jones, HMS Software's Director of Technical Services. "Our link to Oracle-Primavera for example, can be tested instantly when new versions become available."
The link between TimeControl and Oracle-Primavera allows clients to move their data bi-directionally between the two systems completely in the background and provide financial quality timesheet data to both Primavera for task updating and various financial modules of the organization such as payroll, HR, job costing and invoicing."
HMS Software's TimeControl is one of the longest standing third party integrations with Primavera dating back to 1997 when TimeControl became the first external product of any kind to publish a link to P3e. TimeControl supports links with Oracle Primavera P3 through the current P6. Oracle Primavera clients who require more financially oriented timesheets or timesheets which are well suited for simultaneous payroll and project updating purposes can deploy the TimeControl timesheet and Oracle Primavera together.
The configurable link between TimeControl and Oracle Primavera allows for project, task, resource and assignment information to be moved from the project management system and actual hours, costs, task progress and even steps to move from TimeControl back to Oracle Primavera.
Some of TimeControl's value-added benefits when linking with Oracle Primavera include: multiple rates per employee, simultaneous support for multiple versions of Oracle Primavera, both a browser and mobile/tablet interface and matrix timesheet approvals with HMS's unique Matrix Approval Process for Labor Actuals™.
This process allows project managers to be able to approve hours task-by-task and departmental supervisors to approve hours and costs with an unlimited number of approval levels.
TimeControl's Industrial version also includes crew timesheets and field-data-collection capabilities to update Primavera and Finance with material consumption, equipment usage and even production accomplished information.
"The relationship between HMS Software and Oracle is one that is very important to us, "says Vandersluis. "We are very proud to be an Oracle Gold Partner once again this year."
